Our History
History of Omega Theta Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. Omega Theta Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. was founded on August 10, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois, by a visionary group of men and women united by a shared commitment to service, excellence, and the enduring bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.
This historic gathering marked the beginning of a new Greek-letter organization dedicated to uplifting communities while empowering individuals to reach their highest potential. The organization was formally and officially incorporated on September 18, 2024, solidifying its place as a recognized Greek community service organization.

The origins of Omega Theta Epsilon can be traced to its beginnings as Omega Epsilon, a chapter within another service organization. During that time, the members cultivated a strong and genuine foundation of brotherhood and sisterhood, serving their communities with dedication and pride. As their collective vision expanded, so too did their desire to grow, innovate, and demonstrate a higher standard of excellence both within their community and beyond. However, as the chapter evolved, significant challenges emerged. The members encountered systemic obstacles that included a lack of transparency, truth, support, recognition, and an atmosphere of envy that hindered growth and unity. Rather than allowing these barriers to weaken their resolve, the members chose courage, integrity, and self-determination. In a bold and unified decision, the entire Illinois chapter, along with twelve additional members from the former organization, separated to establish Omega Theta Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. This decision was rooted not in division, but in a profound commitment to protect the family bond they cherished and to expand their capacity to serve with authenticity and excellence. From its inception, Omega Theta Epsilon has distinguished itself through meaningful service. Even during its early chapter days—and continuing as an incorporated fraternity and sorority—the organization has built strong, trusted relationships with numerous charitable organizations, both locally and globally. These organizations have come to rely on Omega Theta Epsilon members, who are known for being ever-ready, dependable, and passionate in their service to others.
Central to the foundation of Omega Theta Epsilon is the development of the Seven Pillars of Excellence, created by the Founding Members to serve as the moral and ethical framework of the organization. These pillars were intentionally designed to build, strengthen, and sustain the character of both current and future members, ensuring that excellence is not merely an aspiration, but a lived standard. Omega Theta Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. formally anchors itself in its Mission, Vision, Creed, and Motto, which together articulate the organization’s identity and purpose.
The Mission affirms its dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive community grounded in sisterhood, brotherhood, and empowerment. The Vision commits the organization to being the change it wishes to see in communities by creating positive and lasting impact. The Creed and Motto—Brotherhood/Sisterhood, Community, and Empowerment—serve as daily reminders of the values members are called to uphold. Today, Omega Theta Epsilon Fraternity and Sorority, Inc. stands as a testament to resilience, unity, and purposeful growth. Focused on serving with excellence and empowering members to their greatest potential, the organization continues to honor its origins while building a legacy rooted in service, leadership, and transformative impact.
